About Amy

Amy Ekins is a writer based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England. She is a 2013 Northern Writers' Awards new poets' bursary winner, and her  debut chapbook of poetry, Nonplaced, is available at erbacce-press. Now also available through Amazon!

Amy has been mentored by poet Simon Jenner through Survivors Poetry. She works as a project manager for a publishing company, producing academic titles and GCSE textbooks.

In 2012, Amy graduated from MRes Creative Writing at Northumbria University - for which she was awarded a fee-waiver scholarship. Her project for the MRes was to create a collection of prose poems for users of the Tyne and Wear metro network, based around locations on said network.

Prior to this, in 2010 Amy graduated from BA English Literature and Creative Writing at Northumbria University, with a First Class Honours degree.

Amy has been published in a variety of fiction and non-fiction publications such as ink sweat and tears, Cadaverine, StepAway, Red Fez, Mslexia, and The F Word. Her debut chapbook of poetry, 'Nonplaced', was published by erbacce-press, March 2013.
